Who We Are

Total Improvement Process Ltd (TIP) was established in 2002 and is led by Tim Sims and Phil Thomas. The company is based in North Wales, and our team members are involved in local, regional, national and international projects, from grass-roots to policy levels.

Tim Sims, the Evaluation Director, is a specialist in innovative team development, having worked with manufacturers like Revlon, banks like Chase Manhattan and the UN in Serbia. Tim is a European expert in action-centred evaluation of projects.

Phil Thomas, the Technical Director, is an innovator in statistical process control and "White Box" technology that puts control of the process into the hands of line teams for a range of manufacturers.

The company's purpose is to develop innovative improvement processes with organisations, teams and communities of practice. At the heart of what we do, and what we support others to do, is imaginative, rigorous and systematic exploration and interpretation of stakeholders' views and data to inform progress, to spot difficulties before they become problems and to translate a project's encounters with tough issues into new learning for doing things better.
